u/noneabove1182 reports that MSI Live Update messed other stuff up as well. You should never flash your BIOS in Windows. I should add that this applies to any motherboard manufacturer as well. Google reveals that this has happened to numerous people. So - for those of you who are have this tool - DO NOT USE IT TO UPDATE YOUR BIOS! I installed them as it recommended, and all of the sudden everything went black. Today I noticed there was an update to MSI Live Update (forgot the version, it may have been available for a while.) I installed the updated, and the software mentioned that all sorts of stuff had available updates.

It seemed to work well and helped keep my various drivers up to date. With that said, MSI Live Update was installed when I installed the various motherboard drivers. The Fractal R4 case made it all look awesome as well (thanks, /r/buildapc.) I built my new Z87-G45-based gaming PC a few months ago, and everything has been great.
